Essence Therapy

Essences are liquid solutions that contain the energetic imprint of flowers, plants, or other elements of nature. The best known are the Bach essences, but hundreds of others are available from producers around the world. They are usually taken orally, though can also be used topically to improve mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

What kinds of problems can flower and vibrational essence therapy help with?

Essence practitioners always treat the whole person rather than any individual physical symptoms. Essences awaken, resolve, and transform our emotional and mental attitudes or inner disharmony, improving our well-being, so we are able to function at an optimum level. They help us to perceive difficulties in our lives with greater awareness, so we are better able to cope with challenging situations and circumstances. Their energy is extremely supportive whenever we are negotiating new circumstances or working through changes, upsetting circumstances, shocks and traumas.

What can I expect when I visit a flower and vibrational essence practitioner?

Essence practitioners work with a holistic model of the human being where physical health is seen as part of a larger picture that includes the individual’s emotions, mental state, lifestyle, and aspirations. Practitioners work in various ways, according to their training and methods adopted over time from experiences with clients. As in other therapies the practitioner needs to fully appreciate a client’s specific situation or issue and will ask a range of questions in order to complete a case history form. In addition to utilising their vast knowledge of essences, some practitioners may work with kinesiology, dowsing, or other intuitive means, to choose specific treatments for a client. The result is usually a tailor-made bottle, consisting of drops from several different essences.

How many treatments will I need?

Recent research by the British Flower and Vibrational Essences Association (BFVEA) has shown that essence treatments have a demonstrably positive and statistically significant impact on people’s symptoms and general well-being. However, everyone’s response is unique, and, whilst some people experience quick results, others, particularly where the issues are deep-seated, may require a series of treatments to restore equilibrium.

How does flower and vibrational essence therapy work?

How essence therapy and other vibrational treatments work is not yet fully understood. However, it is generally considered that essences probably create an energetic interface between the physical body and the subtle anatomy. Thus, when the frequency of a vibrational essence resonates with an imbalance in a person, at any level, a ‘frequency tuning’ takes place, which balances all the higher energetic systems that ultimately influence the whole physical body.

How can I be sure I am in safe hands when visiting a flower and vibrational essence practitioner?

Registered flower essence practitioners are listed with The British Flower and Vibrational Essences Association, and the Bach centre. They adhere to regulations set by the UK Lead Body and Professional Council for essence therapy COREP (The Confederation of Registered Essence Practitioners). All registered practitioners have adequate training, are insured, work to a Code of Conduct and undertake CPD (continuing professional development). Registered Flower and Vibrational essence practitioners are eligible to apply to join The CMA.
