At the Academy of Sound Therapy, we provide a calm countryside sanctuary near Grantham, Lincolnshire, dedicated entirely to your professional development and personal growth. Our flagship diploma fully equips you to practice with the public upon successful completion of your case studies—with no separate level 1 or level 2 certificates required.
This comprehensive qualification covers both public group sound baths and private 1:1 therapeutic sessions. Many of our students add this training to their existing practices—such as yoga teaching, Reiki, or crystal therapy—while others complete the diploma singly to launch a dedicated sound therapy career.

• Dedicated Individual Setup: For 1:1 treatment practice, every practitioner is provided with their own private training station and individual instrument setup for tuning forks, percussion, and Himalayan Singing Bowls.
• Extensive Instrument Library: Students gain intensive, hands-on experience working with our premium collection, including a line of 16 master gongs and a wide selection of Crystal Singing Bowls. While these larger instruments are shared within the group, we provide an abundant collection ensuring everyone has ample access during practice.
• Bespoke 1:1 Private Tuition: We fully support a private one-to-one mentoring route. This tailored space moves at your own pace and deeply benefits students looking for highly personalized technical development.
• Direct Access & Long-Term Mentorship: You receive immediate feedback during each day’s training, alongside continuous guidance via email or WhatsApp during your case study phase and beyond.
Our Course Formats & Structure
• 6-Day Group Intensive Track: Spaced over six consecutive days, limited to 4 students max, ensuring equal hands-on room practice.
• 3-Weekend Part-Time Track: Spaced learning over three dedicated weekends.
• 5-Day Private 1:1 Track: An accelerated, bespoke masterclass pathway tailored entirely to your personal goals and instrument timeline.
• Case Studies: While you have up to one full year to complete your real-world case studies at your own pace, you are completely free to fast-track them in a shorter timeframe if you wish to graduate sooner. The moment your completed case studies have been reviewed and approved by the tutor, your official course certificate is issued, and you fully graduate.

Having completed a practitioner course in sound with helen, I am already out there doing what I love, I knew I always wanted to do sound and I had visited a few people however nothing really clicked and although I was eager to get going it was also really important for me to be the right person/soul, when I had a chat with helen and my first session I knew I had found the right course and person for what I needed, helen not only knows and teaches all kinds of instruments and sounds but she also knows her frequencies and sound on a much deep technical level too, so you get both spiritual and technical side of things. She has many instruments so that you can try them before you buy yourself, and continues to help and advise with any questions you may have.

I am so glad I found Helen! I had completed another course prior to finding this one which enabled me to practice sound healing on family and friends only. The other course, although good in some ways, did not allow me to be myself and on reflection, felt like a military-style course where everything had to be done in a very specific way.
Enter: Helen! An intuitive and supportive teacher with oodles of flexibility in every single aspect of the course. She encouraged my use of intuition and to go with my instincts, which is exactly what I was looking for in a tutor, and how I wanted to work post-qualification. During the 5-day course itself, I learned loads and it was so nice to see that Helen is very open to learning new things too – a brilliant quality in a tutor and a human. There is no trace of an ego in Helen and this was so refreshing to be around. I learned new techniques on the course, including better techniques than I had been taught in another course, techniques that are much more natural and intuition-led.
I also realy appreciated the fact that I didn’t have to do a boatload of unnecessary coursework and so I was able to concentrate fully on preparing for and conductinf the practice sound healing sessions.
I also love the fact that the post-treatment reports are not a war and peace effort, but a short, concise overview of the session, including client feedback. There’s a section in the post-treatment report that asks the practitioner for self-reflections on the session… I really like this in particular and I found it really helped me to reflect on each individual session, where I can improve, and what worked well. This particualr aspect has really helped me to learn a lot about myself.
I received considered and in-depth feedback for each of my treatment sessions from Helen which gave me additional considerations, alongside positive feedback. The method of submitting treatment reports and receiving feedback works extremely well in it’s simplicity. I appreciated this method very much as Helen makes it really easy to submit your work.
At one point, I was having difficulty in the practical application of a particular gong technique that Helen had taught me on the course. I emailed her with the details of the difficulty i was having and she set up a call for the same week to go over the issue and see if we could resolve it, which we did.
I would absolutely recommend Helen. She offers good value for money, a supportive environment during the course, and ongoing support throughout your journey.
