I have been a Nurse since 2009 and always had a passion to deliver Holistic Complementary Therapies, this led me to completing a Diploma in Reflexology and Advanced Diploma in Reflexology through The Centre of Excellence, with 2 distinctions. I have started my own business working from home, as well as conducting home visits, locally to the Hesketh Bank area (please call to discuss if this is available in your area).
I offer reflexology to the feet, an Holistic Complementary Therapy, which originates from Ancient Egypt and China, and has now developed into a more sustainable treatment. Reflexology is a technique that involves applying different amounts of pressure to both feet, identifying health imbalances within the body. Reflexology works by applying pressure to the reflex points, removing energy blockages, promoting health in the related body areas.
Fun fact – Did you know? “Each foot has 7000 nerve endings”.
A Clinical History will be taken prior to treatment commencing during your first session. Many people find Reflexology relaxing, the session should not be painful, if you do experience any discomfort, please let me know. Reflexology is a therapy which is based upon the feet, hands and ears, being connected to different systems and organs within the body.
The benefits of Refloxology include: Goals to reduce feeling stressed; Releases energy blockage’s which are across the fascial planes. When the fascia becomes tight, this can seen through limited mobility, which can cause pain and contribute to other health conditions. Common causes include: inflammation, scar tissue, compensation of imbalanced movement or poor posture. Reflexology allows you to feel where the fascia is constricted, therefore allowing an understanding of where your body may be restricted. This may lead to some areas of your feet being tender or sore, therefore spending extra time on these area is important. If you are ticklish, not to worry, I apply firm pressure, so it does not tickle.
After a therapy session, most people feel relaxed. Occasionally some people may experience some nausea, sleepiness or feel emotional – these are some of the effects to show that therapy is working.
