Prof. Dr. Mohammadramin Zia (born 1964, Iran) is a Professor of Visual Arts and Consultant in Holistic Personal Development. He is the originator and developer of Holisticology® (1998–2002), an original and comprehensive methodology integrating psycho-spiritual well-being, healing arts, and complementary therapies into a unified framework for personal transformation. The foundation of this approach is informed by decades of academic research, therapeutic practice, creative exploration, and lifelong study in spirituality and metaphysics.
Dr. Zia began his journey in spirituality and metaphysics at the age of sixteen. Over the following five decades, he pursued both traditional learning under the guidance of respected spiritual masters and formal university education, integrating experiential wisdom with academic scholarship. His work spans Spirituality & Metaphysics, Holistic Health & Healing, Aesthetics & Visual Arts, and Personal Transformation.
In 2002, Dr. Zia also introduced the concepts of Holistic Psychotherapy® (a non-clinical integrative approach to holistic health), Holistic Art Therapy®, Holistic Energy Healing®, and Holistic Spirituality®, which form complementary components within his broader integrative philosophy. Through his consultation methodology, Professor Zia combines interdisciplinary insight with a compassionate and structured approach, supporting individuals in developing greater self-awareness, holistic well-being, personal growth, and transformative life change.
His work has also been expressed through a series of pioneering initiatives and institutions developed over four decades, reflecting the progressive integration of arts, education, management, spirituality, and holistic well-being:
– Pouya Cultural Group; Shiraz, Iran (est. 1986): A private initiative dedicated to cultural and artistic activities and the comparative study of spiritual traditions and systems.
– ZiaBonyan Institute; licensed as Cultural & Arts Management institution; Tehran, Iran (est. 1996): An officially established cultural company pioneering educational and professional services based on an interdisciplinary approach combining Arts and Management. Its framework incorporated two principal areas: Art of Management, emphasizing ethical and moral disciplines for managers; and Management of Arts, providing artists with fundamental and practical management skills, alongside training in personal assistant skills.
– Holistic Health Centre; Dubai, UAE (est. 2000): A pioneering centre providing rehabilitation and complementary therapy services, including Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Art Therapy, Energy Healing, consultation and training workshops, together with a specialist health shop.
– Lotus Educational Institute; Dubai, UAE (est. 2002): A pioneering vocational education institute for Arts & Design, Art Therapy, Holistic Education, and Holistic Well-being, offering a broad range of educational and professional training programmes.
– Integrated Non-Traditional Education Programme; created and introduced in 2003: A flexible educational framework developed for multinational students and diverse learning circumstances. The programme incorporates three principal modes of study: Taught, providing individual and group classroom-based teaching, local and non-local training, and distance or offline learning; Portfolio, providing examination and evaluation of professional and practical work, particularly within the Non-Local Training system; and Research, supporting research and independent study, particularly within the Native Language Studies system.
Holisticology® (developed 1998–2002); formally established in 2002: An original and comprehensive methodology integrating well-being, healing arts, complementary therapies, spirituality, and personal development within a unified framework for personal transformation.
Together, these initiatives demonstrate the evolution of Professor Zia’s interdisciplinary work from early cultural and artistic activities in the 1980s, through the integration of arts and management in the 1990s, to the development of holistic health, education, and the formal establishment of Holisticology® in Dubai, in the early 2000s.
Recognized as a pioneer in the integration of visual arts and holistic well-being in Dubai since 2000, Dr. Zia established the Holistic Health Centre and later Lotus Educational Institute in 2002, a government-approved vocational education institution for Arts and Design, offering more than 300 course-subjects, alongside training programmes in art therapy and holistic well-being.
Professor Zia has received several international awards and academic recognitions in the fields of Aesthetics and Visual Arts, Holistic Health and Healing, Spirituality and Metaphysics. In recognition of more than 50 years of dedicated study, practice, teaching, and innovation, he was appointed a Fellow of the Complementary Medical Association (FCMA) in 2025 and received the “Global Leader in Holistic Innovation Award” from the Complementary Medical Association, United Kingdom.
