I’m Esmat Ahmadian, a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner offering individual sessions for adults in Brixton and Islington, London, and online. Sessions are available in English and German.
You might understand what is difficult in your life but still struggle to respond differently. Perhaps you find it hard to switch off, feel overwhelmed or disconnected, hold back what you need, or repeat patterns in relationships that leave you frustrated. You may also be looking for more room to create, connect or make changes without continually overriding yourself.
**How I work**
Somatic Experiencing brings attention to the bodily experience of stress, protection and connection. Alongside conversation, we explore sensations, emotions, movement and the responses that arise during a session.
We establish what you would like support with and develop the work around that. There is room for unexpected discoveries, while regularly checking whether the process is useful to you. You do not need to arrive with a clear explanation or already know how to notice your body.
My approach is collaborative and attentive, with space for humour, uncertainty and honest feedback. We approach difficult experiences gradually. You decide what to share, and any touch offered in person is optional and discussed with your ongoing consent.
**Areas of work**
– Anxiety, persistent worry and difficulty settling
– Stress, overwhelm and burnout
– Emotional numbness and disconnection from the body
