Jackie has always been interested in how certain food affects the body and health, but became particularly interested in Nutritional Therapy because of digestive and menstrual health problems.
After visiting various complementary practitioners ie Naturopath, Homeopath, Chinese Herbalist, reading various books and carrying out internet research, she soon realised that consuming large amounts of processed foods, high in sugar, fats and salt played a major role in making these problems worse over the years, and that by trying to reduce the amount of toxins she was putting into her body she could begin to manage these conditions. She has now been managing her conditions for some time and has seen reduced symptoms; in particular she has seen a significant change in her menstrual problems and energy level.
She then decided to make nutrition a more permanent part of her life and completed a two year course in Nutritional Therapy with the Kevala Centre in Torquay, Devon, where she graduated with distinction. She is now a Nutritional Advisor.
The reason why I practise is because I am passinate about the role food and drink play in our lives and because I believe you can prevent a lot of illnesses by a change of diet and lifestyle.
