What is impotence? 

An inability to achieve or maintain an erection for a long enough period of time for sexual intercourse to take place is how impotency is defined with some men having a problem getting aroused in the first place or losing their erection during sex. 

This condition usually affects men over the age of 40.

It can be a one-off incident that may or may not reoccur but in some cases it is chronic.  

 

Causes?

The cause can be psychological or emotional problems. 

Physical diseases such as diabetes can lead to impotency. 

Other causes include, history of sexually transmitted disease, use of certain drugs and medication, alcohol, cigarettes.
