Most of the citrus oils are photosensitisers which means they react with sunlight. The sunlight reacts with the furocoumarins. Grapefruit contains furocoumarins but it appears to be neutralised by its other constituents and for this reason grapefruit oil is used if the person has to go into the sun after being exposed to this oil.

Detoxifier, astringent, stimulating.
