What is Grapefruit?
Most of the citrus oils are photosensitisers which means they react with sunlight. The sunlight reacts with the furocoumarins. Grapefruit contains furocoumarins but it appears to be neutralised by its other constituents and for this reason grapefruit oil is used if the person has to go into the sun after being exposed to this oil.

US, Spain and Israel.
Parts used and method of extraction :
The skin and rind of the big yellow fruit is used and the oil extracted by expression.
Colour and smell :
Yellow or green-yellow. The oil smells like the fruit with a sharp fresh edge to it.
Active Ingredients :
The peel contains 90% linonene along with citral, geranoil, cadinene, and paradisiol.
Properties :
Detoxifier, astringent, stimulating.
Mixes well with :
Geranium.
