TOPAZ:  The name may come from the island "Tropazios" in the Red Sea where topaz was first mined.

Colour and description: Topaz can be blue, green or deep yellow.

Where is it found: Brazil, Mexico and Sri Lanka.

Hardness: 8

(Talc is the softest at number 1 and diamond the hardest at number 10)

Structure: Orthorhombic crystalline structure.

 

Crystal healers use topaz to treat the following conditions:

 

Balance the emotions: Especially those of a negative nature i.e. anger, jealousy or worry.

Gout

Blood disorders:  Including haemorrhages.

Appetite:  Improves appetite and stimulates sense of taste.
